The GMDC was established in 2010 by the Health Practitioner's Act to register and license medical and dental practitioners and to accredit medical education programmes in Grenada.

Ensuring all practitioners are duly registered and credentialed.
Issuing and renewing licenses every three years.
Evaluating medical education programmes to international standards.
Continuous review of medical training and CME.
Recognised by NCFMEA and WFME.
Investigating complaints to ensure accountability.
Accreditation
Schools must apply for candidacy, undergo evaluation, and demonstrate compliance.
